Championship

20 July 2008

A quick update, I know it has been awhile.  SIT competed at our long course championship this weekend and swam well.  While he didn’t produce many best times, he was there which is a lot more than others can say.  Off for a much needed nap.

On the road again!

6 December 2007

Well, CINCHOUSE, SIT, and I have established a temporary command post in the Nashville area once again for a championship meet.  SIT has nine events to swim over the next three days and should do very well.  In fact, I fully expect him to make finals in eight of those nine events and he has a real shot at the ninth one.  CINCHOUSE has requested that I not officiate this meet and I will sit on the bench with her.  It will be hard, but I may take the computer with me and see if the rec center has WI-FI.

Good luck SIT and do your very best.

Middle School Swimming

8 November 2007

Ahh, once more into the breech, dear friends once more.  For those that are not aware, I coach one of the middle school teams here in the local area and really enjoy it.  Interacting with these young athletes is very satisfying and seeing them do well, even more so.  Good luck swimmers!

Good Job, Swimmers!

4 November 2007

CINCHOUSE and I left the Command Post on Thursday travel the highways and byways to that fair city of Orlando to observe SIT at the State Swimming Championships.  While he didn’t compete in any individual events, he did lead off the Medley Relay in both preliminaries and finals.  The school was well represented and all did very well.  Good Job!

On that same note, we took the swimmers out to dinner, for which the coach mandated that they dress up for, and let me tell you that among the topics of discussion with my dinner companions was the observation that while a number of schools were at the same establishment, ours were very well behaved.  They cleaned up well and behaved as one would expect young ladies and gentlemen.

A tiring, yet fun, trip.

Swimming SITrep

1 October 2007

Sorry, couldn’t help it. Seems SIT is doing real well with HS swimming this year. He is consistently placing in he top 10 and mostly in the top 5 in whatever event he swims. Keep up the good work.

Swimming High School Style

9 September 2007

For those of you who are regulars visitors, you know that SIT is a very competitive swimmer.  Yesterday we had a really big high school meet in the area and SIT did very well.  He took 6th in both of his events and in the process set a new school record in the 200 yard Individual Medley.

To all the swimmers, coaches, parents and schools, well done.  You are truly the cream of the crop in varsity sports today.  Well done all.

What a weekend

19 March 2007

If you have been keeping up, CINCHOUSE, SIT and I traveled the highways and by-ways to Nashville for some of the finest swimming this side of the Olympic Games. SIT swam right on his best times and even set a couple of personal bests. Well done, SIT! Others from the team did just as well. For a small team we do tend to turn heads and make people take notice, well done Mavs!

Nashville Bound!

13 March 2007

Well, later this week SIT, CINCHOUSE and I will load up the transport and head north.  We will then establish a temporary command post in that fair city and engage in swimming activities.  If you are in the area and want to see some excellent swimmers doing what they do best, come on by the Traci Caulkins pool on 25th this weekend.  Will keep you all posted on how SIT does in the pool.  To all the swimmers heading for Nashville this weekend, good luck.

A wise man

3 March 2007

once said “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.”  Well SIT certainly took that to heart.  He had already maxed out on the number events that he can swim at our championship meet later this month, but had yet to get the one qualifying time that has eluded him since as far back as we can remember.  Here in his last meet before championships, he finally achieves a qualifying time for the 50 yard freestyle.  Good job, SIT.  While he will not swim that at championships, just that face that he achieved it is enough.  We had a good chuckle about it on the way home from the pool today.  Until next time

This Just In. . .

8 February 2007

Not only did SIT’s middle school boys win the championship and our ‘A’ relay set the school record in the 200 free relay, but after review of the times, SIT set a new school record in the 50 Butterfly. Well done.
